Jeroen Fermie appointed Managing Director of Ketchum Brussels

Ketchum announced the promotion of Jeroen Fermie to Managing Director of the Brussels office. Fermie’s appointment confirms the evolution of Ketchum Brussels to an integrated communications consultancy with earned media at the core.

With experience at both PR agencies as well as integrated marketing groups, Fermie rejoined Ketchum Brussels in January 2021 to accelerate capability-building in strategic planning, data analytics and creative services. In his new role, Fermie will continue to develop the agency’s strategy and reinforce its consulting model.

“Our industry depends on earning attention. Relying on traditional PR spin isn’t enough anymore,” said Fermie. “I believe in building trust with audiences through earned-first creativity: ideas based on human truths and deeply embedded in culture that can drive compelling cross-media stories. With our proprietary data tools and diverse group of specialists, our team at Ketchum Brussels are set up to deliver innovative and high-impact creative work for clients. It is an exciting time to lead Ketchum and I’m determined to seize growth opportunities for both our business and our talented people.”

Prior to joining Ketchum in 2021, Fermie spent six years in Asia. As Executive Director of PR for TBWA\Group Vietnam, he successfully expanded the group’s PR division into digital and strategic consultancy. He then moved to the role of General Manager at MSLGROUP Vietnam. Before returning to Belgium, he spent a year as Executive Director at Golin Hong Kong, where he led the firm’s corporate reputation and B2B practice. Fermie also served as Corporate Communications Director Europe at Campbell Soup Company and held senior roles at global PR agencies in Brussels, including Ketchum.

“Jeroen is an inspiring and authentic leader who will engage our Brussels office’s diverse workforce as it grows in number and expands its capabilities,” adds Mark Hume, Ketchum’s president of Europe. “Brussels is a strategically important market for Ketchum and an established European hub for the leading brands we represent. Jeroen’s global experience will bring additional expertise to both our local and international clients as the team continues to deliver work driven by empathy + intelligence.”
