May 13, 2020

Whether we’re exercising, doing chores or just trying to unwind, listening to podcasts – is a great way to relax and get informed during this global pandemic. As Ketchum’s Influencer team has used this time to continue seeking out resources that keep both our team and our colleagues across the agency abreast of the latest best practices and industry trends, we’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts covering the Influencer Marketing space. The list below shares some of our favorites, and highlights specific episodes that are great starting points if you’re interested in diving deeper into the industry.

  1. Be There in Five – This pop culture-focused podcast by Kate Kennedy has a wonderful series called “Under the Influencer.” Past guests include Jenn Lake, Courtney Kerr and Grace Atwood. Kate asks these digital creator veterans about their careers prior to becoming influencers and their thoughts on different aspects of the industry. Each interview is incredible interesting and informative. More recently, she’s launched a series on “Influence in the Time of COVID-19.”
  2. WIIM Podcast – Many Ketchum team members belong to the Women in Influencer Marketing (WIIM) organization, which was created so women can come together and share resources or leads with one another in the influencer marketing space. Founder Jessy Grossman hosts a podcast where she interviews industry pros, with episodes covering many different parts of the industry, including data collection best practices, how to pitch brands and authenticity. The premiere  episode features Brittany Hennessy, author of the book Influencer: Building Your Personal Brand in the Age of Social Media who gives a great overview of the industry from the perspective of an experienced marketer turned entrepreneur.
  3. NPR’s How I Built This with Guy Raz – This very popular podcast dives into the stories behind some of the world’s best-known companies and innovators, with the goal of uncovering how movements are built. Guy recently interviewed Casey Neistat who is known as one of the first digital video creators to become wildly popular on social media.
  4. Comments by Celebs – From the viral Instagram account @commentsbycelebs, hosts Emma Diamond and Julie Kramer talk all things pop culture, influencer and celebrity. Using the unique angle of their Instagram account to frame the conversation, they delve into what’s going on in the world of celeb comments, and how that translates into real life. They recently did a Beginner’s Guide to TikTok episode that is perfect for people looking to get more information on the platform.
