As a Senior Partner, CEO of Ketchum’s European operations and chairman of the UK agency, David Gallagher brings more than 20 years of public relations experience, both as a client and as a senior agency adviser, to some of the world’s leading brands and companies.
David Gallagher oversees Ketchum's nine European agencies and their specialist services, which include consumer public relations, healthcare communications, corporate affairs and social responsibility, public affairs, change management, and clinical trial recruitment.
He is a member of Ketchum’s global Executive Committee and chairs the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Before moving to London in 2000, David was part of the management team for Ketchum’s Washington, D.C. office and directed the healthcare practice. Prior to joining Ketchum in 1994, David held communications management roles for the American Diabetes Association and the National Mental Health Association.
David is known to communications leaders around the world as an advocate for collaboration and a true believer in the transformative power of public relations.
An active advocate for the PR industry, he is immediate past-president of the International Organization of Communications Consultancy, past chairman of the UK Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) and currently chairman of the PRCA Board of Fellows. He chaired the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Media in 2012-14 and was president of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity jury for public relations in 2014. He received the Atlas Award for Lifetime Achievement in International Public Relations from the Public Relations Society of America in 2014. In 2015, David received the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) Mark Mellor Award.
David is a Texas native who holds dual citizenship in the U.K. and U.S. and is politically involved in both countries. He resides in London with his wife, two kids, two dogs and two cats.
