Personally Navigating Balance

This fall, I kicked off a series of  panel discussions under the umbrella, “Real Women Fostering Women’s Leadership.” Each of these panels will include accomplished women who are willing to share their insights on how to be successful as women leaders.

My hope in creating this series is to address the various topics that affect women both as they strive to become leaders and for those who already are in leadership positions, whether it be related to balance, negotiating skills, networking and more.

The first panel was held last week in our New York office and focused in on, “Personally Navigating Balance.” The panelists included Cheryl Callan, Senior Vice President Marketing, Weight Watchers; Janet Riccio, Executive Vice President, Omnicom Group, Inc., Dean, Omnicom University; Edna Johnson, Vice President Communication and Brands, Michelin. The lively discussion addressed the following areas:

  • The search for balance in the aggregate
  • The need to take time for what is important
  • The significance of compartmentalizing and prioritizing
  • The importance of managing your calendar
  • The value of taking care of your health
