Ketchum Promotes Mike Doyle and Hilary McKean to Regional Presidents
NEW YORK, April 6, 2017 – Leading global communications firm Ketchum today announced the promotions of partners Mike Doyle to regional president of Ketchum New York, Boston, Midwest and Canada, and Hilary Hanson McKean to regional president of Ketchum South and West. In addition, Scott Proper will expand his role from partner and CFO to also include chief operating officer for the North America region.
Doyle and McKean will be responsible for the business growth, client relationships, talent development and effective sharing of best practices and knowledge in their respective regions. They are Ketchum’s first regional presidents, and this newly created role replaces the need for a CEO of Ketchum North America, a position partner Barri Rafferty held before she became global president for Ketchum in July.
“These appointments are driven by Ketchum’s success in the past several years and our continued growth in North America. Mike, Hilary and Scott have each played a critical role in Ketchum’s journey to be the most valued agency,” said Rafferty. “They are trusted communications counselors, insightful business leaders and, more important, they embody what our people love about the Ketchum culture. I am thrilled to continue our tradition of promoting from within, and I look forward to working with them as the agency grows and innovates in the fast-changing marketplace.”
As regional president, Doyle, who joined the agency in 1995, will continue to oversee Ketchum’s New York and Boston offices and will now oversee Ketchum Midwest and Ketchum Canada. Bill Zucker, partner and director of Ketchum Midwest, takes on responsibility for Ketchum Canada and is promoted to managing director, Midwest and Canada. He will work closely with Emma Capombassis, who continues to lead Ketchum Canada as director and general manager.
McKean, a 20-year Ketchum veteran, will continue to oversee Ketchum’s Global Practices, and as regional president, she will be responsible for Ketchum West, working closely with Melissa Kinch, who continues to lead Ketchum West as partner and director. McKean will continue to oversee Ketchum South, led by partner and director Jamey Peters, who also oversees Ketchum’s energy practice. Under Peters’ leadership, Ketchum South will expand beyond Dallas and Atlanta to include Raleigh, N.C., with the planned transition of Capstrat, part of the Ketchum family of companies, into Ketchum South.
Doyle and McKean, along with Jerry Olszewski, partner and managing director of Ketchum’s Washington, D.C., office, will report directly to Rafferty.
