WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 31, 2017 – Ketchum, a leading global communications consultancy, today announced the appointment of KayAnn Schoeneman to the role of SVP and Director of the firm’s Public & Corporate Affairs Practice in Washington, D.C. She reports into Jerry Olszewski, partner and managing director of Ketchum’s Washington, D.C., office.

In her new role, Schoeneman will provide strategic senior counsel to clients while using her depth and breadth of expertise to enhance and grow the practice.

Schoeneman joined Ketchum in 2008 as part of the Global Research & Analytics team, working closely with the Public & Corporate Affairs Practice. She most recently served as SVP for Ketchum Global Research & Analytics, where she directed data-driven campaigns for clients and led the firm’s research and analytics offering for Ketchum Midwest, Ketchum South, Ketchum West and Washington, D.C.

“KayAnn brings our clients a powerful combination of public affairs experience and deep expertise in the data analysis that drives successful campaigns,” Olszewski said. “We’re particularly excited about her ability to deploy analytical tools that enable us to micro-target with increased effectiveness and efficiency for our clients.”

Prior to Ketchum, Schoeneman spent more than a decade in the political and public policy arena with experience in global, federal, state and local public affairs. She served as public affairs director for grassroots firm Weber Merritt and was director of research for National Strategies, Inc. She also held the role of VP of communications for the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and served as a campaign field analyst for the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Communications Division. She is a former adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University.

“I’m thrilled to take a leadership role for this team that I’ve worked with for eight years,” said Schoeneman. “I firmly believe in using data as a foundation for creating smart, high-impact campaigns, and I’m excited about engaging with our clients in new, creative ways.

Schoeneman is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America, American Association of Public Opinion Research and the International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communications. She has a degree in international affairs and political communications from George Washington University.
