Ketchum and its clients were shortlisted in an additional nine categories.

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity was established in 1954 and is generally viewed as the pinnacle of the annual awards season for the global communications industry.

For the seventh consecutive year, Ketchum is the sponsor of the Cannes Young Lions Marketers Competition, designed to recognize talented young in-house marketers, age 30 or under, working for client companies in 24 countries around the world. The Young Marketers have the opportunity to showcase their ideas in front of industry leaders from top global companies attending the Cannes Lions Festival.

In addition, this year Ketchum is hosting two panels. On June 18, Ketchum presented Classic Hollywood Meets the YouTube Generation: Who Are Fans Following?, a live panel discussion featuring Hollywood star Laura Dern and YouTube sensation Grace Helbig, moderated by PR Lions juror and Ketchum’s partner and head of entertainment, Marcus Peterzell. The debate explored the similarities and differences between working with “timeless” and “real-time” talent, and how marketers can tap into both worlds successfully. On June 21, Ketchum will co-host a panel with the editor of Fast Company, which will explore the existence and causes of a creative echo chamber, based on the findings of a survey of 500 creatives.

Ketchum representatives will also be posting their insights and observations during the festival at ketchum.com/cannes-2017 and using the hashtag #InspiredbyCannes.

In 2009, Ketchum was honored with one of the first ever PR Lions for its “Häagen-Dazs Loves Honey Bees” campaign. In 2011, Ketchum, as part of OneVoice, won a Silver PR Lion on behalf of Philips, and in 2013, the firm won seven PR Lions and two Promo & Activation Lions across nine categories. In 2014, Ketchum won two PR Lions and one Promo & Activation Lion across three categories, and in 2015, the firm won a Bronze PR Lion with client Fashion Revolution. Last year, Ketchum won a Bronze PR Lion for Caritas International and a Promo & Activation Lion for work with Gillette.
