LONDON, March 28, 2017 – Ketchum, a leading global communications consultancy, today announced two senior appointments to its healthcare offering in London, highlighting the firm’s commitment to this core business area in the U.K.

Kate Paxton, SVP and director of the Washington, D.C. Healthcare Practice, is now leading the London Healthcare Practice as director, and Neil McLelland joins Ketchum as director of its Inspired Science medical education offering. Both Paxton and McLelland report into Jo-ann Robertson, partner and deputy CEO of Ketchum London.

“Kate and Neil bring a wealth of experience in healthcare communications, medical education and specialist team leadership, and I believe our clients will benefit greatly from their expertise,” said Denise Kaufmann, partner and CEO of Ketchum London. “Healthcare has always been a core driver for Ketchum London, and with this new influx of talent, we’re strengthening our existing business as well as accelerating our efforts in 2017.”

Paxton is a 16-year veteran of Ketchum’s Healthcare Practice, during which time she has serviced some of the agency’s largest healthcare client engagements and built a reputation as one of the most valued advisers in healthcare communications.

“I’m thrilled to join this well-established team,” said Paxton. “I look forward to using my experience leading a Healthcare Practice in the U.S. to develop an even more collaborative, borderless approach to ensure we continue to deliver excellent results for our clients, while bringing exciting new opportunities to London.”

McLelland will lead Inspired Science, Ketchum’s specialist medical communications group.

McLelland commented: “I look forward to working with the Inspired Science team to drive sustainable growth and success. We will combine scientific rigour, strategic savvy and creativity for our clients as we develop compelling scientific and clinical learning programs to enhance healthcare professional decision-making and practice.”
