Chicago, Jan. 23, 2007 - Ketchum, a leading public relations firm, announced the appointment of Cathy Kapica, Ph.D., R.D., as Vice President and Director of Global Health and Wellness for Ketchum's Global Food & Nutrition Practice. Dr. Kapica is based out of Ketchum’s Chicago office and joins Ketchum from McDonald’s Corp., where she was Global Director, Nutrition, strengthening its science-based nutrition information, menu development and corporate wellness initiatives.

Previously, Dr. Kapica was Senior Scientist and Director of Nutrition Education at the Quaker Oats Company, now the Quaker/Tropicana/Gatorade unit of PepsiCo. She also worked with G.D. Searle & Co. on NutraSweet and Simplesse, the world’s first fat substitute. Dr. Kapica has also been on faculty at Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School.
