On May 8, Ketchum Germany is cosponsoring Trend Day, an annual German thought-leadership forum in Hamburg where some of the leading thinkers in marketing and management share insights on the latest business and communications trends.
The theme of this year’s event is identity management. While personal identity used to be shaped by work, family and religion, today identity is defined dynamically and becoming a management task. The question of “Who am I?” is being replaced by “Who do I want to be?”
At the same time, the days of one-way communication are over. The focus is shifting to the consumer rather than the product. Rather than anchoring a static picture of the brand in consumers’ minds, the goal will increasingly be to live and breathe the brand identity in a process of interaction with the customer.
This year’s Trend Day will explore these themes and their ramifications for communicators and marketers.
