Tim Loughton
Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister for Children
Tim was born in 1962 and brought up in Sussex, and he took a first-class degree in classical civilisation at Warwick University. He went on to study Mesopotamian archaeology at Clare College, Cambridge.
After being elected as the member for Worthing and Shoreham in 1997, he held a number of briefs, mostly centred on children, the family and health.
He has led for the Opposition on a number of bills, including those on children and adoption, child care, and tobacco advertising. He has also been Vice-Chair of the All Party Group on Children since 2004.

Sue Eustace
Director of Public Affairs, Advertising Association
Sue Eustace has worked for the Advertising Association, the trade body representing the advertising and promotional marketing industries -- which includes advertisers, agencies, and the media -- since 2003. As the Advertising Association’s Director of Public Affairs, she is responsible for European as well as UK public affairs issues, and has been closely involved with the work of the AA’s Food Advertising Unit, which provides a common-cause voice across the advertising industry on food advertising to children.
Before joining the AA, Sue ran her own consultancy from 2000 to 2003, prior to which she worked on public affairs issues at the ITV Network.

Liz Barclay
Presenter, BBC Radio 4
Liz Barclay has presented You and Yours since 1998. She was born and brought up in Northern Ireland and began her working life as a money advisor and manager for the Citizens Advice Bureau in Norfolk and Suffolk. She's worked in print journalism and written a personal finance column for the News of the World.
Her first job at the BBC was as a researcher/producer in the Continuing Education department. For Radio 5 Live, she has presented Moneycheck, a daily business programme and After Hours. She has also presented on television, including Pound for Pound and The Small Business Programme, on BBC 2.

Anne Longfield, OBE
Chief Executive, 4Children
Anne Longfield, OBE, is the Chief Executive of 4Children and has worked in the field of children and young people’s policy and services for nearly 25 years.
Anne has written many research publications and led numerous campaigns, including a number of high-profile inquires and commissions. Anne is a leading figure in the field and is a member of a wide range of national boards, including the recently established Ministry of Justice’s Youth Citizenship Commission and the third sector investment organisation Futurebuilders. Anne works closely with a range of government departments, including a period of secondment to the Prime Minister's Strategy Unit at the Cabinet Office.
Under Anne’s leadership, 4Children has grown to become an award-winning charity for change, shaping and delivering solutions for children nationally and in local areas.
Anne received the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in recognition of her contribution in the millennium honours.

Gary Pope
Co-founder and Director, Kids Industries
Gary founded Kids Industries in 1999 to provide strategic and creative solutions for companies looking to market to families.
Gary has led development projects for some of the world’s most successful family brands, including CBBC, Kellogg, McDonald’s, Cartoon Network, GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever, Disney Consumer Products and American Greetings.
He is also a juror for Children’s BAFTA, a member of the steering committee for Showcomotion, and an advisor to several academic institutions at home and abroad, including Germany’s Akademie fur Kindermedien.
One of Gary’s greatest loves is preschool television, and he is currently leading the development of Al Jazeera’s new preschool channel – JBC.
Prior to setting up Kids Industries, Gary was Head of English at a Lambeth School.
Most importantly, Gary is dad to Daisy and Laurence.

Andrew Hawkins
Chief Executive, ComRes
Andrew Hawkins has worked in communications and polling for more than 20 years. A trained barrister, Andrew has worked in in-house communication roles at Shell UK and BTCellnet (now O2), and in communications consultancies in London and Brussels.
In the mid-1990s, he led the political research function of a major polling firm. Prior to establishing ComKnow, Andrew was Chief Executive of the Investor Relations Society, the UK’s leading professional body for those working in financial communications. Andrew is also Chairman of training and events company ComKnow.
Over the past five years, Andrew has led the growth of ComRes from a startup to a major force in polling and market research.

Rod Cartwright
Managing Director of Public Affairs, Ketchum
Rod Cartwright is Managing Director of Public Affairs at Ketchum London, specialising in government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs, stakeholder relations, and issues and reputation management. With over 15 years experience working for leading independent consultancies and international PR networks, he has advised clients at the highest level on their issues management and public affairs strategies.
Rod is a Board member of the UK’s Public Relations Consultants Association, as Chair of its Public Affairs Committee, and recently acted as an industry witness as part of an ongoing inquiry into lobbying by the Commons Public Administration Select Committee. He has also been instrumental in developing the Guiding Principles Initiative for all organisations interacting with the UK's political institutions – principles recently endorsed the new London mayor, Boris Johnson.
He has lectured at Imperial College London on stakeholder management, is on the advisory board of Brunel University’s Master’s Degree in Public Affairs & Lobbying, and regularly writes on public affairs issues.
