Chicago, June 4, 2007 - Ketchum, a leading public relations firm, announced the appointment of Calmetta Coleman as Senior Vice President and Director of Editorial Services for Ketchum Midwest, based in the Chicago office. Coleman joins Ketchum from JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she was Vice President, Senior Communications Manager, serving as the spokesperson for the company, including Chase bank and the JPMorgan businesses, in Illinois and Wisconsin.
“Calmetta brings a unique blend of experience – both as a corporate communications professional and former journalist – which will allow her to provide invaluable counsel to our clients,” said Ron Culp, Managing Director of Ketchum Midwest.
Coleman served as a Media Relations Manager for Bank One Corp. before it merged with JPMorgan Chase in 2004. Prior to that, she was a reporter for The Wall Street Journal in its Chicago bureau. During more than seven years at the Journal, she covered various beats, including banking and consumer finance, retail, supermarkets and drugstores, and the car rental industry. She also served as an interim editor on the team that edits the Marketplace section.
Coleman is a graduate of Dillard University, New Orleans, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications and business management. She also holds a Master of Science in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where she was a William Randolph Hearst Fellow.
