Michael Fong has been appointed Vice President of the Brand Marketing Practice and Jenny Zhang-Bruce joins the Corporate Practice as Account Director.

Michael Fong, Vice President, Brand Marketing Practice, Ketchum Shanghai
Michael Fong is an integrated marketer with 10 years of experience in China, covering sports marketing, sports apparel and equipment, entertainment, the automotive industry, and technology.

Prior to joining Ketchum, Fong worked in TaylorMade-Adidas Golf where he led and drove numerous key marketing projects including the company’s Beijing Olympic campaign, HSBC Champions sponsorship and other PR programs.

Before TaylorMade-Adidas Golf, Fong was director of integrated marketing for Sony BMG Music based in Beijing, where he consolidated SONY BMG’s traditional and digital promotion strategies for leading Chinese artists, including Leehom Wang, Jay Chou and Karen Mok.

Prior to Sony BMG, Fong worked at PR agency Bizcom Consulting, where he rose from Account Manager to Shanghai General Manager. While at Bizcom, he successfully developed and executed marketing programs for key clients, including Sun Microsystems, Cisco and Jaguar Land Rover.

“The diversity of Michael’s experience and creativity will be a huge asset to our vibrant Brand Marketing Practice,” said Ross Hughes, General Manager of Ketchum Shanghai.

“I’m very excited to join Ketchum with its strong track record of quality work in China,” Fond said. “The media environment in Shanghai is unique, which presents great opportunities for both us and our clients.”

Jenny Zhang-Bruce, Account Director, Corporate Practice, Ketchum Shanghai
Zhang-Bruce’s extensive expertise in international public relations combined with her in-depth knowledge of the China market has been honed during 10 years working with leading international PR agencies in China and the U.K.

Her diverse industry experience covers a broad spectrum of corporate clientele, including HSBC, Novartis and Cap Gemini Ernst Young, as well as leading technology companies such as Ericsson, Seagate, and Computer Associates. In addition, she has served some of the world’s leading luxury brands, such as Versace, Hermes and Swatch.

Zhang-Bruce was among the first members of Ketchum’s team in China, joining the Ketchum Beijing office in 1998 as an Account Manager and later leading the Technology Practice.

In 2000, Zhang-Bruce moved to London with her family and joined Edelman’s technology practice. Upon her return to China in 2005, Jenny joined Ketchum Shanghai as Account Director. After leaving the company in 2007 she has now rejoined.

“It’s also great to see Jenny return to Ketchum after delivering such solid client work for us in the past,” said Hughes. “Working to support Corporate Practice Vice President Darby Doll we have the best possible combination of local market and international experience in our leadership.”

"This is the second time that I have returned to the Ketchum family and it’s great to be back,” Zhang-Bruce said. “I am confident that we are in a better position than ever to look after our clients’ needs and to further expand the Corporate Practice."
