Challenge

Kodak, known for forging emotional connections through film for 125 years, wanted to help reconnect people of the digital era face-to-face to improve relationships.

Solution

Kodak took to the road with the Compliment Guys, two university students who started the Brightsiding movement, simply by spontaneously saying nice things to people. Ketchum sent the Guys to high-traffic locations to deliver their trademark free compliments and Kodak’s “It’s Time to Smile” message, while leveraging social media to promote the tour and encourage a dialogue with Kodak.

Result

Traffic to Kodak’s site exploded with over 12,000 visitors. At tour sites, more than 250,000 consumers were touched and inspired to pay more compliments.
